CMMC Level 1 FastTrack

CMMC Level 1 FastTrack converts the CMMC Level 1 obligation into a plan a small or mid-sized defense contractor can execute. Participants separate Federal Contract Information (FCI) from Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), define the assessment scope, implement all fifteen Level 1 safeguards, assemble evidence, self-assess, prepare the SPRS submission, and build the annual operating rhythm that keeps the affirmation true.

The course is built for organizations without a mature GRC function or dedicated security team.  Every module ends in an artifact, not a concept, and stays precisely at the Level 1 line - a recurring and expensive first-timer mistake is solving Level 2 / NIST SP 800-171 problems inside a Level 1 program.

Why It Matters ?

Compliance is a condition of award - Level 1 status is increasingly verified before contracts are awarded or flowed down.
Affirmation is personal accountability - a named senior official attests annually, and there is no POA&M relief at Level 1: every requirement must be met before affirmation.
Most failures are scoping and evidence failures - organizations rarely fail because a control is impossible; they fail because FCI spread into undeclared systems or nothing proves a control operated.
INTENDED AUDIENCE

  • Business owners and executives who will sign the annual affirmation
  • Compliance officers, GRC professionals and virtual CISOs building the readiness program
  • IT managers and system administrators implementing identity, endpoint and email controls
  •  Contracts and procurement leads handling flow-down clauses and supplier questionnaires
  • Operations and facilities managers responsible for physical access, visitors and media disposal
  • Internal auditors and consultants reviewing readiness before affirmation

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Determine whether the organization handles FCI and define the Level 1 assessment scope using process/store/transmit logic
  • Identify in-scope, out-of-scope and specialized assets, and trace FCI from receipt through disposal
  • Implement all fifteen Level 1 safeguards across access control, identity, media protection, physical security, boundary protection, flaw remediation and malware protection
  • Build the minimum useful documentation set and a control-to-evidence matrix, and apply five evidence quality rules
  • Perform a requirement-by-requirement self-assessment, separate implementation gaps from documentation gaps, and close them before submission
  • Prepare SPRS inputs, brief the affirming official, and build a twelve-month compliance calendar
